Random Broods

Good weekend! Was supposed to spin with this group Lifted Flights (kinda reminded of some Bookah stuff), but I had no idea that my set time didn't start until 4Am (and we had gotten there at 12AM) , and I had gotten no sleep - FML. So we got to talking and they wanted us to work on a remix on one of their tracks. So i'll post that up if I ever get around to doing it. Also got some BOMB HITS!

EP APPROVED

Afrojack just released his new EP called "Music is Magic," with this and comeback. Dope EP, this tracks really hard and prog. Good to hear Afrojack experimenting with some new synths and styles. I really recommend downloading this.

The second track of the EP, and is sick as fuck. I personally like the former better, but this track is no joke. The drop is seriously epic with a partouze of sounds!
house progressive

Wow, Wolfgang gartner does not stop progressing. This guy is so sick, I honestly think he might be the next the Deadmau5. Honestly, he's a musical genius. I really like this track, it's less electro than most of his tracks, but it still really tech. He really kills it with his use of weird sounds and hard percussion.
house tech

Ok, so I'm not really sure if this is a RIP from his new EP or what. I kinda just found this track, and even though it says it's in 320, it's really not. I always post anything with Pryda's name on it with respect. Haha, cool track.

Extended Weekend

Yes yes yes. I love long weekends. Deadmau5 was sick, but I forgot a camera so I couldn't get any videos! He didn't drop that track "Soma" I wanted to hear though, but on a plus; Fwah got meet him and asked if he remembered us screaming "Deadmau5 for president," during his appearance at the Virgin Record store. Turns out he remembered, and it inspired his Deadmau5 for #1 DJ in the DJ MAG.

EP APPROVED

Oldie but goodie,  I felt like posting up a few Adam K & Soha tracks

IMO both of these tracks sound almost exactly the same with different vocals, still tight though.
house progressive

Good house song, but I'm just not a fan of girly vocals. I'm sure some of you are though. There's two remixes, I like Dim Chris' more.
house

Honestly, I think D.O.N.S. is a great producer and his tracks are on point, but his collaborations with DBN are just so much better; I don't understand why he's trying to pull off this solo career. If you request I'll post up some DBN tracks.
house progressive

Albin Myers has been in the studio recently. Man is he putting out some hits. I really like the beat on this one, but just couldn't find the dub mix.

Hau5 of Mau5!!!

So, we went to see that show at the Apple store in Santa Monica... basically, not only 30 people showed up, and it turned into a riot. The Apple store and fire department shut the event down,a and the Mau5 did not get to spin. Ugly, anyways he has a video regarding this, and I'll post it up a bit later with some fresh hits (I know I've been super lagging). So we're going tonight to the Paladium to once again see the Mau5 perform. Hasn't let me down once, I'll post up some sick videos of him tomorrow!

EP APPROVED

Not quite new, but as I could only find some shitty youtube until I came up on this 320. Deadmau5 has done a few collabs with Mellefresh, but as with this one, they are really rare to get the full quality version. Dope track, really shows that Deadmau5 does have a rockstar mentality, go figure :P

My homie just produced this remix. The original is one of my favorite tracks, and he did it justice. He's going to release an EP, so I'll keep all of you posted. He put an electro touch on it, and it really sounds good. Proper drops, incorporates the original track well, and just an overall good production.

Deadmau5 Causing Riots Tmrw At The Apple Store on Third Street

Tomorrow between 7pm and 8pm, Deadmau5 [a] will cause a riot at the Apple store on 1248 Third Street Promenade, Santa Monica, California, after the star announced his plans to play a set at the retail store.

In the past Deadmau5 created a roadblock at a Virgin store in Los Angeles, and this time he wants to “convert an Apple store into an all out party”.

Read Deadmau5 amusing blog post after the jump, talking about his special one-off performance.

How many people can we fit into an apple store???

Okay, anyone remember that Virgin instore I did in LA a lil while back? crazy fuckin party ya!??

Well, time for round 2!!! So let’s convert an Apple store into an all out party.

On the 21st of may, head down to the apple store on 1248 Third Street Promenade, I think it’s downtown LA? or Hollwood?  something like that… Google it. Anyway, let’s ram that friggen store and make a scene :).

I’ll be hanging around no doubt for a set, and sticking around after for a signing and photos n stuff. So yup! Come onnnnn down, and let’s show Apple how we friggen do it! (I seriously don’t think they have any idea what they’re in for, I KNOW you LA kids know how to throw it down… so let’s give ‘em a little somethin they won’t forget anytime this decade.)

seeya there!!!

(oh yeah, i dont know what time yet… but ill edit this when i find out… cant seem to get ahold of paul for some reason… im assuming it’ll be in the afternoon-ish?)

*****UPDATE*****

turns out santa monica is nowheres near downtown LA, or hollywood for that matter, so i guess im geographically retarded. big deal… LA can come anyway!!!! hell, you guys are friends with Santamonicans right? fuckit, it’s a party.  LOL! my bad

*****UPDATE #83458*****
Its on the 21st.... not the 25th.... fuck… i really should proof proof proof read my proofs before publishing blogs, i suck at this. FML

Finally Finishing Finals

Isn't school a bitch? Heres an update: We're gonna be djing at the Marymount/Pali afterprom this weekend, so that should be tight. Then coming up right after, we're doing a warehouse party in downtown. I'll post up addresses and other information later. On to the tracks - Got some new laidback, dahlback - just some new hot tracks for you. As always, STAY UPDATED!

EP APPROVED

Laidback Luke is always dropping massive bombs. His style is so unique, that he's just been influencing all types of producers around this world. Let me say, I don't usually like tracks with vocals in them, but the way he used these, I actually do. The vocals kind of draw you in, then when the beat drops, it keeps you in. Check this track out, and don't forget to support on beatport!
house

I've never heard of anything by Joeysuki or Apster, so listening to this surprised me. It's pretty good, they take out the vocals of the beginning so that they can build it up throughout the rest of the track. Beats cool, but I enjoyed the original more. You choose. Don't forget to support on beatport!
house

The original track was amazing, and highly anticipated before it dropped. I heard the Crookers open their set up with "How I Like It" at Coachella, which was pretty cool. I really like this remix, it really puts a funkier twist on something that was so weird already. The girls vocal is almost screaming in this remix which is really tight. Check it out, and don't forget to support on beatport!
house

WOWOW! OK, so I had this theory, right, that Dirty South was indeed joining the Swedish House Mafia. I mean they were one man down, and always either acclaiming him or producing a beat with him. So, this kind of added to it, but, on to the track. White noise is so in, right? I mean the way they use it is really tight, its kind of controlled. Also that alarm noise just gets me with that clap! SO SICK! I really really like this track, download it, and don't forget to buy this heat right when it gets released on beatport!

Albin has touched the extremes of his technological taste and his talent in mixing together sounds with the raw unreachable voice. Already being banged away by the big boys to the big crowds.

Kalus

So with summer just around the corner, it's time to start thinking about the tracks that are gonna tear up the beaches and pool parties. While searching through the new Beatport releases this morning, I came across a track I believe will do just that. Kalus' remix of Kings of Leon's "Use Somebody" is the perfect mix of vocals and electro for fun in the sun. So who is Kalus? Not to be confused with Klaus Hill, Kalus is also a DJ/Producer out of Australia. I'm honestly surprised I'm just hearing about him now, I really love his sound. Take a listen to the tracks provided and expect to hear more bombs from Kalus in 2009.
